In this article, Jon Kiddie considers one of his own cases in which a local councillor was disqualified and removed from office by the Standards Commission for Scotland for alleged breaches of the Code of Conduct for Councillors. Counsel represented the appellant in what was the first ever successful appeal against a decision of this nature by that body.
