Terra Firma Chambers is delighted to announce that Stephen Winter and Mark Mohammed have become the latest additions to the stable. Stephen and Mark called to the Bar on 3rd June 2011 and have extensive experience as solicitors in private practice and local authority respectively.

With over 10 years experience in private practice, Stephen has a broad range of experience in civil court work including conveyancing; wills, trusts and executries; leases; licensing and employment law.  He also has substantial advocacy experience having qualified as a solicitor advocate in 2007.  Stephen has appeared before the Inner and Outer House of the Court of Session, the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal and before all levels of courts and various tribunals.  He has also been appointed as a tutor for Glasgow University’s Diploma in Legal Practice course in Human Rights.

Mark Mohammed has gained extensive experience in Terra Firma’s core areas through seven years in the litigation section of Edinburgh City Council’s legal services division.  He has considerable experience in administrative law, including local government practice, licensing and employment law.  His Planning Law experience includes compulsory purchase and associated litigation in the Lands tribunal and he also has experience of environmental law.  Mark’s experience of property and commercial law includes landlord and tenant disputes, procurement and breach of contract.  He has conducted substantive hearings in the Sheriff Court, including before the Sheriff Principal, and various other tribunals.
