Following the success of last year’s inaugural Local Government Conference, Terra Firma Chambers is hosting another full day conference specifically focusing on issues which regularly concern local authorities. The conference will be chaired by Dame Elish Angiolini, DBE, QC and will feature a series of talks covering a range of legal updates of interest to local authorities, including Administrative Law, Employment Law, Planning and Environmental Law, Licensing Law and Valuation and Rating, as well as specific talks on adequate reasoning, an update regarding permanence orders and the implications of protective cost orders on local authorities. 

The conference will be held on Monday 10th October 2011, at the Parrish Halls, 266 George Street, Glasgow and will be followed by a drinks reception.  The conference has been accredited by the Faculty of Advocates as contributing four and a half hours CPD for its own members and is eligible for a similar award from the Law Society for the solicitor branch of the profession.  There is no charge for attendance and delegates are invited to join us either for the full duration or just for part of the conference and subsequent reception.
