Terra Firma Chambers is delighted to announce that J. Gordon Reid QC and Gordon Watt have joined the Chambers with immediate effect.

J. Gordon Reid QC is a greatly experienced civil and commercial law practitioner having called to the bar in 1980 and taken silk in 1993.  He specialises in commercial property disputes, particularly in respect of building and engineering, commercial transactions involving land and buildings and agricultural landlord and tenant disputes. Gordon has been a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators since 1994 and is a Director of the Scottish Arbitration Centre.  He has considerable expertise in tax law and holds part-time positions as Deputy Judge of the First-tier Tribunal and Deputy Judge of the Upper Tribunal (Tax and Chancery Chamber).  He is Temporary Judge of the Court of Session and Arbitrator under the Motor Insurers' Bureau Scheme.

Gordon Watt has developed a wide-ranging commercial practice since calling to the Bar in 2007.  Prior to that he spent four years as a solicitor with a leading commercial firm where he handled a broad range of commercial and contractual disputes.  Gordon is particularly interested in employment, reparation, property, intellectual property, company and insolvency matters and is a part-time tutor in Company and Commercial Law at the University of Edinburgh.
