Terra Firma Chambers have further underlined their commitment to the future of the Scottish Legal profession by providing sponsorship for the University of Aberdeen School of Law mooting team.

The University of Aberdeen Mooting Society aids law students who wish to pursue a career in court practice.  This year the Society is entering a team of students into the Willem C Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot which will be held in Vienna in April.  In preparation for this event, the team will participate in a pre-moot competition at Edinburgh University this weekend, 3rd -4th March.  To aid the team in this, Terra Firma Chambers is providing financial sponsorship to cover the team’s travel and accommodation costs.

Neale Tosh, President of the University of Aberdeen Mooting Society said: This has been a particularly important year for us. It has seen us celebrate our 25th birthday and has seen the launch of a whole range of new projects as part of our longstanding commitment to helping students develop advocacy skills. With the increasing emphasis on the use of alternative forms of dispute resolution, providing the opportunity for students to gain experience of arbitration was a natural progression for us. We are extremely pleased to have the support of Terra Firma Chambers, who have a particularly strong set of expertise in this area and who also share our commitment to training and development.
