Terra Firma Chambers is delighted to announce that Andrew Bowen has been appointed as Queen’s Counsel.  Nominated by the Lord Justice General and recommended by the First Minister, Andrew is one of six new QCs approved by Her Majesty the Queen.  This brings the number of silks at Terra Firma to 16 and increases the strength and depth of senior Counsel in the stable.

Andrew Bowen read law at Keble College, Oxford and took an LLM at London University specialising in commercial law.  After qualifying as a solicitor in England and Wales he worked for the UN in the Gaza Strip and as a Public Solicitor in the Solomon Islands before calling to the Bar of England & Wales in 1993.  He called to the Scottish Bar in 1997 where he has developed a strong civil and commercial practice, with particular emphasis on contract, property, professional liability and cross-border issues.  He also has experience in arbitration and public law.  He has acted as an ad hoc Advocate Depute since 2003.Chairman of Terra Firma Chambers, J. The new Queen’s Counsel will be introduced to the Court on Friday 21st September 2012.
