Terra Firma Chambers Recognised for its Strength in Property and Planning by Legal 500

Seventeen members of Terra Firma Chambers have received a total of 27 individual recommendations in the latest edition of the Legal 500 law directory.  Our members received 20 recommendations across 6 separate categories for their work at the Scottish Bar and a further 7 rankings in 6 categories for work at at the Bar of England & Wales.  In addition, the stable was noted for its ‘strengths in property and planning’ - “Terra Firma Chambers is ‘well run, and has good people in it’”.

Terra Firma Chambers is described as ‘the go-to stable for planning work’ with individual rankings under Planning, Environmental and Licensing, for Gordon Steele QC, Douglas Armstrong QC, James Findlay QC, Roy Martin QC, Ralph Smith QC, Alasdair Burnet, and Graham Dunlop.  Robert Skinner and Scott Blair received recommendations for their licensing expertise.

Alan Summers QC was ranked within Company and Insolvency and Commercial Litigation whilst David Bartos received three rankings under Commercial litigation; Property, Construction and Agriculture; and Tax, Trusts and Pensions.  Within Property, Construction and Agriculture, J Gordon Reid QC, Robert Sutherland and Iain Maclean were also recommended with Philip Simpson and Derek Francis recognised for their expertise in Tax, Trusts and Pensions.  Peter Grant-Hutchison was again ranked within Employment.

James Findlay QC and Roy Martin QC have again been ranked for their work at the English Bar with James receiving rankings under Administrative and Public Law and Licensing, and Roy again ranked within Planning.  John McKendrick was recommended within Education, Administrative and Public law, Civil liberties and Human Rights and Steven Walker was recognised for his expertise in International Arbitration.
