Terra Firma Chambers, as sponsors, in conjunction with the Edinburgh Tax Network and Trustbar hosted an address by the Rt. Hon. Lord Drummond Young entitled The Rangers Case: HMRC v Murray Group Holdings - Substance and form - the triumph of reality over language? on Thursday 17th November 2016.

 

The event was held at the Laigh Hall, Parliament House on Thursday 17th November with a capacity audience treated to an interesting and enlightening talk by Lord Drummond Young about the Rangers case and tax avoidance schemes, focusing especially on the importance of the more recent case law from Barclays Mercantile v Mawson onward.

 

There will be a follow-up event held in London on Thursday 23rd February in the parliament chamber of the Inner Temple promoted by ETN and sponsored by ICAS and Temple Tax Chambers.
