Terra Firma Chambers hosted its first Company Law Conference on Monday 8 May 2017. The conference was devoted to shareholder disputes and was chaired by Michael Howlin QC, who also gave an introductory talk on unfair prejudice. The other speakers and their topics were Fergus Thomson (purchase of shares: the classic remedy for unfair prejudice); Denis Garrity (derivative claims) and Brian Crook (just and equitable winding-up).
Not only was the conference extremely well attended, but feedback from the delegates was overwhelmingly positive. There were also helpful suggestions regarding other company law subjects to be addressed and these will certainly be reflected in our next conference on this area of the law.
