Terra Firma Chambers are pleased to be able to announce that they have appointed a new Assistant Deputy Clerk and have extended their opening hours.  Tracy Whitelaw has joined Terra Firma Chambers as an Assistant Deputy Clerk with effect from 5 January 2009.  Her appointment brings the number of full time staff to three and allows Terra Firma Chambers to offer an improved and more flexible service to its instructing agents and clients.

From 6 January 2009 anyone wanting to contact a member of the clerking team directly will be able to do so between 8am and 6pm. In addition, in cases of emergency contact can also be made outwith these times (click here for further details). Terra Firma Chambers is the first Scottish stable to offer these extended hours.

Emma Potter, the TFC Practice Manager, said, "We are delighted that we have been able to make this appointment.  Tracy Whitelaw is a valuable addition to the clerking team and we are very pleased that she has come to join us.  Terra Firma Chambers was launched on 4 January 2008.  Our first full year has been busier than we could have hoped for, and we thank everyone who has made that possible.  However, we have no intention of resting on our laurels.  Our main priority for 2009 is to build on what we have done so far as part of our commitment to providing the best possible service for our clients. We started trialling an extended hours service in October 2008 and we found that this was appreciated by agents who needed to make urgent contact with the clerks or counsel.  We expect that our further extended hours from 8am to 6pm will be warmly welcomed by those who have to respond to last minute developments outside the normal office hours of 9am to 5pm. This is another first for Terra Firma Chambers as it responds to meet the continually developing needs of the changing legal and commercial market place.  All our clerks are happy to discuss any matter with agents, whether it be fees or timescales for work, the choice and availability of counsel for particular types of work, or providing in-house seminars."
