Terra Firma Chambers’ Neil Kinnear has been appointed as a part-time Sheriff.  He is one of fifteen new part-time Sheriffs announced today by the Scottish Ministers following recommendation by the Judicial Appointments Board for Scotland.  A further seventeen part-time Summary Sheriffs have also been appointed.

Neil maintains a wide-ranging commercial practice having called to the Bar in 1994.  In addition to this appointment he is also a Judge of the First-tier Tribunal (Social Entitlement Chamber), a Legal Member of the First-tier Tribunal for Scotland (Housing and Property Chamber), a legal member of the First-tier Tribunal for Scotland (Social Security Chamber), and a tutor and lecturer in Civil Litigation and Advanced Civil Litigation at the Glasgow University Diploma in Legal Practice.
