Terra Firma Chambers has been recognised in the latest edition of the Legal 500 as a ‘leading stable’ with a ‘strong offering of Advocates’ across its core practice areas.

In the new rankings, released online yesterday, Terra Firma members received 26 individual recommendations across the Legal 500’s defined practice areas with the stable ranked as a leading set for Administrative and Public Law, Employment and Property, Planning and Construction.

Terra Firma’s position as the pre-eminent stable for planning matters was re-affirmed with instructing solicitors describing it as ’Peerless for planning law’ and an ‘Excellent stable with top planning counsel.’  Terra Firma members are also acknowledged as being ‘equally strong in advising on a range of property law issues’.

Roddy McIlvride KC was ranked as a leading silk for Commercial Disputes while Roddy Macleod and Derek Francis were recognised for their private client expertise under the new category ‘Private Client and Family’.  Fred Mackintosh KC was ranked as a leading silk under Crime and Regulatory.

The clerking team were again recognised for the quality of service provided across the board: ‘Terra Firma is a reliable, well informed stable that consistently delivers excellent service.’  Described as ‘professional and responsive’, ‘The clerks have been unfailingly helpful.’

In addition, there were further recommendations for Terra Firma’s dual-qualified members with ‘double silk’ James Findlay KC receiving an additional five rankings for his work at the English bar.
