It is with great sadness that Terra Firma Chambers marks the passing of one of its founding members, Sir Menzies Campbell KC.  He called to the Bar in 1968, taking silk in 1982.  He served as MP for North East Fife from 1987 to 2015 and was Leader of the Liberal Democrats from 2006 to 2007. He became a member of the House of Lords in 2015 adopting the official title of Lord Campbell of Pittenweem.

Prior to his illustrious career in law and politics, Sir Menzies was an Olympic sprinter, who held the UK 100m record from 1967 to 1974.  ‘The Flying Scotsman’ ran in the 1964 Tokyo Olympics and captained the British men's team at the 1966 Commonwealth Games.
