Terra Firma Members Kenneth Young and Douglas Armstrong KC successfully appeared on behalf of the Scottish Ministers and interested party, SP Transmission plc in a challenge by Galloway Without Pylons to plans for new overhead power lines between Kendoon and Tongland in the south of Scotland.
The Scottish Ministers decision to allow consent and deemed planning permission for 47km of overhead high voltage lines was upheld. The court held that the ministers had given adequate reasons for their decision and that there was no failure to consider relevant matters.
