Julius Komorowski of Terra Firma Chambers will present an update on recent case law from the Inner House at the latest SYLA 'Beyond the Basics' seminar on Thursday 7 November 2013 at the Mackenzie Building, Old Assembly Close, Edinburgh.

Julius returns to full-time practice at the bar in November following the completion of a two year appointment as Law Clerk to Lord Gill.  During ths time, Lord Gill, as Lord Justice-Clerk and Lord President, has dealt with human rights issues affecting agricultural leases, land reform and the parole of prisoners. He has had to clarify the law of promise, the valuation of agricultural land and the manner in which compulsory purchase orders can cease to have effect. Subjects dealt with by him in the Inner House have encompassed everything from the cultivation of strawberries in Fife to the generation of electricity in Rwanda.  At this event, Julius will present an update on the important cases dealt with by the Inner House during that time.
