Terra Firma Chambers will be presenting an Arbitration Seminar to the Perth Faculty of Procurators on Tuesday 17th May at the AK Bell Library.
The seminar will consist of two talks: David Parratt will speak on the Arbitration (Scotland) Act 2010 and the Scottish Arbitration Rules; Mandatory and Default Rules; Arbitrator’s Duties and Powers; Powers of the Court; Expenses; and Appeals. David Bartos will present the second talk “Arbitration: How to use it” which covers Arbitration clauses or other Agreements; Choosing and Agreeing an Arbitrator; Timetable; Documents only or Evidential Hearing?; Objections to procedure; Award and Expenses; and Enforcement.
The seminar will start at 6pm and has been accredited by the Faculty of Advocates as contributing 2 hours CPD for its own members and is eligible for a similar award from the Law Society for the solicitor branch of the profession. Non-solicitors are also welcome to attend.
