Terra Firma Members Robert Sutherland and James Findlay QC (England & Wales) will be amongst the speakers at the annual UKELA Scotland Conference at the Apex Waterloo, Edinburgh on Thursday 4th October 2012.
This event will concentrate on Environmental Issues in the Planning Regime and features a number of specialist talks from experts in the field. Robert Sutherland will deliver an Environmental Case Law update and James Findlay will present a paper looking at developments in Strategic Environmental Assessments and Environmental Impact Assessment Policy and Practice. In addition there will be presentations on Appropriate Assessments under the Habitats Directive; Environmental Human Rights for Planners; Sustainable Development, the Scottish Government’s “Hydro Nation”; Access to Environmental Justice and Marine issues for Offshore Wind Farms.
This full-day conference will be of benefit to lawyers, planners and land agents who act for or against developments taking place in Scotland, where environmental issues are so significant.
